Norton Backup is not connecting on my computers

I just bought Norton backup and installed it on my desktop and laptop:

  • M11x Laptop
    Last Backup: Not Backed Up
    (View Log)
  • Storage Calculation in Progress DetailsCancel
    Files scanned: 0 (0 bytes)
  • MCE
    Last Backup: Not Backed Up
    (View Log)
  • Backup in ProgressCancel

    Awaiting agent backup

It has been spinning it wheels on both systems for the last few hours... I rebooted my dekstop and it still does the same thing...

Hello Thaidog,

Based on your description your computer is not successfully communicating with the Norton Online Backup backend. There is a ping that takes place around every few minutes which helps tell the web interface if your computer is online or not. It's likely something is blocking that from taking place. Generally its a software or hardware firewall restricting it.

What firewall products are you using including hardware based solutions?
