I already received the FF 38 update last week. My FF toolbar doesn't appear to have changed. Any idea what this update was for? Chrome? (which I'm not running)
I haven't received any browser update today and haven't seen any Norton Announcement about any Toolbars today. If you look in your history for that update, it should tell you what it was for. What Norton product are you running and what is the version of the product in question?
My history is just showing a Norton Browser Toolbar-Add on at 2.66 MB. The patch did need to re-load my NIS (no reboot required). I'm running NIS 21.7 on Win 7 x64. Already got the FF 38 2014.7.12.14 patch last week. My FF is still showing that same toolbar version. So, some browser toolbar patch was applied, but I can't tell what it was
That might have been a backend fix then.. I'll try and find out something about it.
Thanks! ... a backend fix is my best guess as well
I also received an update titled Norton Toolbar Browser Add-on today on my Comcast Norton Security Suite which was in fact a backend patch for v 184.108.40.206 products. I had FF 38.0.1 abut a week ago, so we are talking about the same update. It is my understanding it is being released to v 21 users on a throttled schedule, so everyone should get it over a period of time.
As a backend update, nothing you as a user sees will change.
