Sonar Bug

Just updated to Windows 10.  Two database products I have been using were deleted by Sonar when I started them up. It thought the files were a threat, asked me if they were OK (don't remember the exact verbage).  I specified do NOT delete them and they were deleted anyway.  Took me a long time to figure out how to restore them since there is no obvious option.  You have to use a pulldown to get to the right spot.  Turned sonar off and now I get this annoying message about not being protected.  Sonar is a POS, don't give me the option to turn something off and litter me screen with RED X's and warnings.  Just hate the layout of this product.

Re: Sonar Bug

Hi Peter EH,

If you insist on turning off SONAR and do not desire the RED X, please select the Security Square on the main page of Norton > then select advance > hover over the Sonar and a popup displays as show in the image below.  Click on the Ignore and the RED X condition should disappear.  I have found that sometimes you need to move your pointer around a bit to get the popup to display.

Re: Sonar Bug

Have you thought of just adding your problematic programs to the Sonar exclusions. That way you still have the Sonar features available to protect your system from malware.

Click on Settings - Antivirus. Then click on configure beside Items to Exclude from Auto-Protect, SONAR and Download Intelligence Detection..

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
