Norton Security Scan
I have Norton Security Standard running on a standalone computer. I am running Windows 10, Professional on my PC.
Immediately after every reboot, a Norton popup window displays the following: "Norton Security Scan Uninstall. Your Norton settings and passwords are now being saved. The install will begin in a few moments." It only displays after a reboot. After a few moments the popup disappears and all is normal. I cannot get rid of the popup. I unchecked the box next to Norton Security Scan in the Performance\Startup Manager screen but when I try to apply the change, the system rechecks the box. I used CCleaner.to delete NSS in the startup items. That eliminated the popup from appearing after reboot, but then something causes NSS to appear again on startup. I cannot figure out how to stop this from happening.
I used the Norton Remove and Recover tool a number of times. Using the tool, I did a remove and reinstall. I also did an uninstall only and then dowloaded a fresh copy from my Norton account. None of those corrected the problem. I also uninstalled the programs from the control panel and then reinstalled a fresh copy.
