Abbreviated toolbar in IE 10

I had to reset my IE 10.  When I re-enabled the Norton toolbar I get an abbreviated version (image attached) without the norton menu dropdown, vault open/closed dropdown, login assistant dropdown, share dropdown, or safeweb icon.

How to I restore these?

Thanks

Welcome,

How did you 'reset' IE10? Have you rebooted since? are your browser, OS and Norton up to date?

Thanks

Re: Abbreviated toolbar in IE 10

Hi gordo91,

I do onto recall all the information, ut it seems this had happened in the [ast when upgraed from NIS 2012 to NIS 2013 because in NIS 2012 there was an option to copmpre4ss/minimize the NTB.  It is all vauge to me as to the exact reason and the corrective action - but I knwo it has been addressed in the past.

Hopefully someone with a better knowldge of it will recall it and assist you - if this is the same probelm.

Re: Abbreviated toolbar in IE 10

Thanks for your interest.  To answer the questions:

a) Internet options, advanced tab, reset buttion lower left

b) several times

c) IE 10 just upgraded, recent Win 7 updates, and I think so.

FYI, the Norton toolbar seems to have full configuration in ofther browsers (Chrome and Firefox)

Thanks

This sounds even more like the previous porblem as that only happen in IE.

BTW, which Norton Product are you using and what is the version number?  You can find the version by selecting Support from the Main page of your Norton Product and then selecting About.

Re: Abbreviated toolbar in IE 10

Thanks for the info gordo91,

Finally I do believe I found something that may pertain to your situation, although it does not apply to IE10, but for some reason it does not ring the bell I had in my head earlier - I guess that happens with us "elderly" folks.

Long read, but maybe some info useful to you.

Re: Abbreviated toolbar in IE 10

Hi,

Can you please follow the below steps and check whether it resolves the issue:-

1) Right Click anywhere above the Address Bar of the IE10.

You will see options such as "Menu Bar/Favorites bar/Command Bar etc....":

2) Click on "Lock the toolbars" so that it gets unchecked.

3) Drag and Drop Norton Tool Bar to the next line.

You should see the whole Norton Tool Bar now.

Re: Abbreviated toolbar in IE 10

Thanks,

That kind of worked. I wasn't able to drag the Norton toolbar, but by disabling all the other toolbars until the Norton was the only one left, it was restored to its full configuration.  It stayed that way after I re-enabled the other toolbars.  Haven't check yet to see if it stays after reboot, but so far looks promising.

Re: Abbreviated toolbar in IE 10

Nice to hear your issue got resolved.

In your screenshot both Google ToolBar and Norton ToolBar are in the same line hence tool bar UI got truncated.

So whenever you Reset your IE, then after machine reboot please enable Norton Tool Bar first then other tool bars.
