Re: About NS & NSBU

Super useful info ... Thanks

Re: About NS & NSBU

Still supporting XP? Great! The support for Windows 7 without service pack1 is not right. I encountered a handful of issues when I beta tested NS on Win7 UL [not sp1] in virtual box (which made me to actually check which version of windows was loaded).

Re: About NS & NSBU

From the 3rd link:

How can I get the Norton Security service if I currently use Norton AntiVirus, Norton Internet Security, or Norton 360?

Current Norton customers who are protected with subscriptions of Norton 360, Norton Internet Security, or Norton AntiVirus products will be offered options to transition to a Norton Security service on a future date to be communicated later.*

* This may not be available to customers in regions where Norton Security is not available.

This is interesting... Maybe a free transition option is coming from NIS/NAV/360 to NS/NSBU?

I also noted the following in the third support article titled Can I use Norton Security or Norton Security with Backup with my Norton AntiVirus, Norton Internet Security, or Norton 360 Subscription?:

"All customers with active Norton 360, Norton Internet Security, or Norton AntiVirus subscriptions will continue to receive the latest in security updates (LiveUpdate virus definitions) and the Norton Engineering team remains committed to providing support to users on the latest versions available for these products (21.x for Windows users)."

That sounds like my NIS v. is not fully supported and that I'll be forced to upgrade to v. if I want to continue receiving updates for the Norton Toolbar, IPS engine, etc.  Or did I misunderstand the above quote?

Re: About NS & NSBU

Hi Lori,

I have the same impression, but, let's wait until someone from Symantec replies here and clarify things.

Hope this helps,
