"Access Vault" message where normally "Vault is closed"

After having my MS Community profile blocked by another Microsoft mess-up and unable to use their forums for 28 hours, I was at  last able to use it again & then signed out at 8.30am.

Just come back and saw this on the Norton Toolbar:

Clicking on it brings up System Restart Needed. Nothing happened when I clicked on that so I restarted the laptop. Same message so I switched off and a few minutes later switched on. Still the same.

I vaguely remember it happening before but I can't find any records on my PC nor via a Search here.

I'd appreciate your help! Thank you.

Hello

          my id safe has not worked since 3/3/2017 support telling me its been fixed but it has not don't think these clowns will ever fix it so I have downloaded sticky password works a treat

can't anyone help? I'm effectively locked out of the 90+ forums for which I need a log-in ID and password. 

This is so disappointing.

I now see four or five other threads with Vault issues - this isn't many but perhaps lots more who are having problems didn't write down their password etc to log into Norton - I once did that.

So are there general problems? Can this be escalated.

As G Kemp notes, there have been ongoing problems with ID Safe for a while now. It is not a total lock out as I have been able to access my vault all along. Some users found reinstalling helped.

Try the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool to see if a fresh installation will help.   www.norton.com/nrnr

Be sure you read the Before you begin section, and run LiveUpdate manually a few times, restarting as necessary, until no updates are available.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

@Taffy078, several of us have been troubleshooting various Norton problems with IS and the Toolbar.  @SoulAsylum found a workaround.  Change your account to a local account with administrator privileges.  Those of us who have done that are back to normal.  It might help you.  Start with this post and read through the thread.

So Norton have sorted out their problem. I'll post this on the other threads in case it helps them.

That does not look anything is solved. Unless when you did the restart requested, your problems went away. 

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

@Taffy_078, what did you do to elicit the "Restart Required" screen?  Did it just appear when you booted or did you make a change before that?

@peterweb, she did indicate in another thread that the problem was solved when she restarted.
