My Norton product is not catching adware, which is wrecking havoc with my home laptop. How do I set the product to block all malware?
Hello Lady Silver Fox
Welcome to the Norton Community
Could you please tell us your Norton product and version number?. Click on Help/Support>About. Have you run a full scan with your Norton product? Did you properly remove any prior security product from your laptop?
Thank you for your response. I have Norton 360 Premier, version 188.8.131.52
Yes, I have run several scans on several days. Old virus protection previously uninstalled.
I located the most recent adware and manually uninstalled it.
I would still stop over at one of the free removal sites and ask them if your computer is now clean. Sometimes they can hide on you. We recommend the free malware removal sites and tell users not to try and remove malware on their own if their Norton product doesn't catch it. Here is the list so you can still get it checked out.
(Thanks to Delph for providing the list of sites)
Please see this link for an up to date description of these sites plus the addition of a newly listed site formed by one of our successful malware remover users. The new site is listed first in this link.https://community.norton.com/en/forums/malware-removal-forum-recommendations
Please come back and let us know how you made out. Thanks.
I'm attempting to sign up and use the first site suggested. I cannot get the site to acknowledge my login. Is there a secret to this?
Please try one of the other sites then. You should be able to sign up ok at any of the others.
