Another Backup operation is running. Please try again

I keep getting this message even though it is false; there are no other backups running on my computers.

I am not being offered any options to correct this false message and Norton steadfastly tells me that my data is at risk.

what can I do to get my backups running when the software has no solutions to offer?

I'm receiving the same error. Ever since upgrading to Windows 10, I've been trying to "FIX" this issue with no luck. Security, Identity, and Performance is protected, but my Backup is "At Risk" with no troubleshooting or corrective actions in order to fix the problem.

Well, I fixed my problem. Backup is now working and I have no idea what I did. All I remember is prior to posting my previous post was restarting the system in order to restore my system back to manufacture settings. Once Samsung Recovery Solutions 5 came up, I decided not to go through with it. My system restarted again after closing out of Samsung Recovery Solutions 5. When I was back up and running, ready to figure out another way to fix my problem, I opened up Norton 360 Premier and tried running Backup again. Next thing I know, Backup was running and now it's completed.

This may or may not work in your case, but it's worth a try.

Re: Another Backup operation is running. Please try again

Well, my experience was similar. I shut down my computer and when it got back up and running Norton's backup finished the save. But... and this is a big butt, the next time I tried backing up, the same message popped up so I just gave up and counted my loss as a Norton rip-off but stuck with Norton since none of these security sf are flawless.

BUTT, As we see here, their Support is non-existent. Now that I got your reply I am trying to backup again, manually, since Norton never started the backup automatically even though I had it programmed to do so. I have a feeling that I'm going to get the same silly message again.

In the mean time I got invaded by malware "Live", a known fake malware. Before cleaning up my computer I ran Norton's scan and got through with flying colors: You are Protected!!! So is Norton just a fake too? I'll be back (maybe) to let you know if the current backup will fail me. Right now it's creeping along at a snail's pace which promises hours more to go -- that might be a good sign....

Re: Another Backup operation is running. Please try again

I'm back. Norton tells me that my Backup is secure and that it happened 14 hrs ago, which is nonsense, so I went to "Restore" backed up files and there I am shown that my last backup was that first one on Oct 17th. This feature is clearly bogus and does not work. Does anything work? Are all the good news pop-ups fake?
