AOL HOME PAGE & SAFE WEB

My AOL Home Page on the Google Chrome browser has never had a green check mark to show it's a safe web but is gray with the notation never tested. The AOL Home page does have safe web turn green and say safe web if I first go to my AOL email page and then back to the AOL Home page. This does not happen with the Edge browser with the same AOL Home page. On Edge the AOL home page is marked safe web with the green check.

This is not a major problem but why is it checked safe on the Edge browser and not on the Chrome browser. I do have the new Edge but even the old Edge had the AOL Home page marked with a green check and the notation safe web.Other news pages, etc. are marked safe web and not untested. In other words why is the AOL Home page tested and marked safe web on the Edge browser and marked untested on the Chrome browser?

Holly

PS: This was also true before I got Norton 360 and had Norton Security.

Re: AOL HOME PAGE & SAFE WEB

Hello Holly. Have you cleared your Chrome cache and cookies then reopened Chrome to see if this persists? I use Opera GX as my default browser, which uses the Chrome extensions. I see things as being normal per the screenshot below. On a side note, I found that if you have the safe web AND safe search extensions both installed safe search will cause conflicts with green checks appearing. I have since stopped using the same search extension.

Cheers

Re: AOL HOME PAGE & SAFE WEB

Thanks for your inpu,t but I clear the cache all the time and I tried removing the safe search and still got the same result. It's not an important issue but have always been curious about why Chrome had never tested AOL Home Page on the Chrome but did test it on Edge. Also the mail page of AOL on Chrome does say safe (with green check)and continues to say safe when I go back to the AOL Home Page (Main Page) with news.

Re: AOL HOME PAGE & SAFE WEB

I touched something on my computer this morning and screwed things up--even lost my home page as well as some extensions.  I had to put my AOL Home page back on and put on the missing extensions, and now I am showing 2 green checks at the top--one for safe web and one for safe search on both my AOL Home Page (Sign IN Page) and email page. Am I correct in thinking that safe search on Windows 10 is on the address bar as when I type in the address bar it says Norton safe search below the address bar when I am typing in the website? At one time I knew this but have forgotten about safe search. Safe web and safe search seem to be interrelated/
