"ATTENTION, you have low storage for online backup" remains after purchase

Last evening, I received a notice: ATTENTION you have low storage for online backup. FIX NOW. I selected FIX NOW and paid for an annual subscription of additional storage. This morning after rebooting, the ATTENTION message remains and taskbar icon still shows ATTENTION to backup feature FIX NOW. I checked my subscription and it is active. Also, last evening I noticed Online Safety module was grayed out and reads "Not Set Up - SET UP NOW".  It has been setup and active until now. I select and it says it is already on my pc. I figured it was related.  Any suggestions?

Update: Ran Backup and ATTENTION message has been replaced with a green checkmark. Yippee. However, Online Safety with "Not Setup" remains greyed out. I select SET UP NOW button and it takes me to a blank screen (search.norton.com)

In the Online Safety section, try changing the default browser listed on that window.

Thanks for the tip. Default browser for Online Safety is currently set on Microsoft Edge which I use 95% of the time. When I switch to Chrome or Internet Explorer, it does change to the green "You are now protected." Microsoft Edge is the successor to IE so should I leave it on IE? How do I get it to recognize Microsoft Edge?

Peterweb - I went into Microsoft Edge browser settings and went to extensions and discovered the Norton Safe Web indicator was turned off. After turning it on, Online Safety for Microsoft Edge is now green and protected. Thanks for your help!

The default browser in Norton is just for when Norton calls a browser. It does not affect your Windows default. You can try setting the Norton default back to Edge to see if the Online Safety stays green.

Have you installed any Norton extensions in your Edge browser? Safe Web, or Norton Password Manager?

You are welcome.

I see our last posts crossed paths. I thought the Edge extensions may have been involved with the indication you were seeing.

Good to see you figured it out. Thanks for posting back.
