Auto save new logins?

I no longer get a prompt asking if I want Norton to save a new login.  Is there any way to get this feature back?  It is so frustrating when you think you saved the info, Norton doesn't have it, and I can't remember it. I'm running Windows 10, FireFox 51.0.1 (32bit) and I checked for a Norton 360 update and it tells me I have the latest version and am up to date.

Thanks for the help!

Re: Auto save new logins?

I just tried with my FF 51.0.1 on Win 10 with NSBU 22.9.0.68 and a new login was detected and I was offered to save the new login.

Be sure your vault is open, as it closes each time you close FF.

Also be sure your settings for auto save logins is set.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Auto save new logins?

I rechecked my settings and I do have it set to always save.  I changed the setting to "ask", then saved and tried a new login but no dialog box appeared.  I switched it back to "always" and tried again but still no popup and the login wasn't saved.  I went into FF and turned off its ability to remember passwords then repeated the steps above but it made no difference.  I still can't auto-save.  I rechecked my Norton360 version and it is the same as yours.

Hello

Have you tried restarting your computer?

Thanks.

Re: Auto save new logins?

If you are making changes from your Norton Security product, or IE or Chrome, those settings do not apply to the FF extension. I do not see an 'ask' option in the FF extension settings.

You need to check the settings in the FF extension by clicking on the ID Safe icon, Signing into the vault, then click on the ID Safe icon again. Then click on the 3 dots at the bottom of the ID Safe window. Then click on Settings and check things there.

Re: Auto save new logins?

I'm sorry - I should have said that I had been working from the ID Safe window settings all along and was jumping through the FF hoops because all of the safe settings were all correct, just not working.  In the past, there have been issues with FF not playing nicely with Norton so I thought I'd give things a try from that angle.  I've restarted the computer several times but it hasn't made a difference.

I really appreciate everyone's time on this.

Re: Auto save new logins?

I questioned your post because you found a setting for Ask to save. I do not see that in the FF extension window.

Can you post a screenshot of the settings page showing the Ask option?

Re: Auto save new logins?

I'm not sure if I uploaded the screenshot correctly - I've never had to turn a .jpg into a .pdf before! This is the dialog box that pops up when I click on the 3 dots in the Norton toolbar to launch the ID vault.

Hello KJ

Do I see what I think I see on the bottom of your screenshot behind the pdf bar?

Thanks.

What is it that you think you see?  Nothing is jumping out at me.

Good eyes! I thought I'd cut it out before I saved the shot. I've contacted a moderator and asked to have the pic removed so I can edit and repost if necessary.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

Re: Auto save new logins?

As I noted, that is the settings pages for the older ID Safe feature in Norton products. Any changes you make there will NOT affect the FF ID Safe extension.

From my post above

You need to check the settings in the FF extension by clicking on the ID Safe icon, Signing into the vault, then click on the ID Safe icon again. Then click on the 3 dots at the bottom of the ID Safe window. Then click on Settings and check things there.

Than you will see what is in my image below. If you want to have the prompt to save a new login, you need to uncheck the Autosave logins option.

SO sorry!  You hit the nail on the head, guess I was just looking at the wall instead of the nail.  Big thanks for your time!

Good that we could get you back on the right path.

It is confusing that all iterations of ID Safe are no longer connected to each other.

Re: Auto save new logins?

Hello KJ

You are welcome.  I could tell it was an email address, but with my eyes, I couldn't read what it said.

Thanks.
