Backup Journaling and History has disappeared

When I click on the details after a backup, no files are displayed.  Even when I go to History, there are no previous backups listed.  The file(s) properties seem to indicate they've been backed up.

Re: Backup Journaling and History has disappeared

Hi raycaron48.

If the backup is an incremental one then maybe no files have changed and so nothing has been backed up.  Might that be the case or are you sure that there are new files that should have been backed up, and have not been?

Re: Backup Journaling and History has disappeared

It is an incremental one and there were definitely newly changed files that should be backed up.  It's not that they aren't getting backed up (as I think they are based on the individual file(s) properties) but it's not journaling them as they have been in the past.  Beyond that, looking at the task histories, most others have history but backup does not.

I think this has happened before and the history all of a sudden reappeared.   Just wondering if there's something I'm doing (or not doing) that's causing this and if anyone else has noticed it..

Re: Backup Journaling and History has disappeared

Hello again raycaron48.

Maybe things have changed, maybe it is just that things may not be in the most obvious location.

Try the following:- Open Norton Security; Select the "Security" tab (not the Backup tab); Select "History"; in the "Show" dropdown at the top left select "Backup"; that should show all your recent backups, select one that interests you; then select "More Options" in blue text towards the bottom right of the display.  That should show you what was backed up etc..  Is that what you were looking for?

Re: Backup Journaling and History has disappeared

yes.  But I had already checked History (see my original post).   But, miraculously, the most recent backup DOES detail the files backed up AND the History now shows all the recent backups.   very strange.  probably nothing to worry about...  thanks for the help..
