can I copy my vault?

Not sure what label to put this under. If I choose the wrong one, please feel free to move it and let me know.

Unfortunately, a failed restore caused my desktop to deny me access to my desktop window. What I got was this:

Red X C:\Users\Jsck's h8-1280t\Desktop is not accessible. Access is denied.

Right now I'm using the same computer as a "Guest" user to make this post.

So, after futile attempts to fix this, posting on HP, Microsoft, and other forums, and searching the internet for a solution, no responses.

I'm about ready to do factory restoral using HP original System Restoral discs.

As for my vault, it is intact on my laptop.

My question: is there anyway I can copy/transfer my vault from my laptop to my desktop after I do the restoral?

Any info appreciated.

Thanks

Re: can I copy my vault?

boongsong You can put a copy of the saved vault onto your desktop once you have the computer restored and functioning properly. Then follow this article to import those settings and data: https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v94725076_identity_safe_standalone_1_en_us

Re: can I copy my vault?

I'm assuming it is local. Once I'm logged into my Norton account I don't have to go back on-line to open it.

Thanks soulasyum for your response.

I'm getting ready to do the restore tomorrow (01/25). Once it is done I will come back here with an update letting you know if I know how to follow instructions ()

If you have to first sign into your Norton Account to get to your vault, it is a cloud vault. That will always be there regardless of whether your Norton product is installed.

To verify, log out of your Norton Account by going to the main NS screen and clicking on your email address and sign out. Then try signing into your vault again. If you have to first enter your Norton Account email and password, it is a cloud vault.

In this case, all you have to do after a system rebuild is install your Norton product and then try to access the vault again.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
