Can I delete Norton Installation Files off Desktop and keep the program?

I just wanted to know if I can get rid of files off the desktop.  The Norton Installation files are located on the desktop which includes the 130 mb online download of the 2015 product.  I would like to move it to somewhere else I can find it easily like a documents folder with installation files or just delete the files.  I don't know if the program is installed in program files somewhere which is usually hard to find on the computer. The same goes with other programs downloaded that save installation files to the desktop.

Look in C: > Users > Public > Public Downloads > Norton

I'll keep a user created folder on my desktop for Norton stuff.  Just me.

It isn't a folder on your Desktop, just a shortcut which can  be deleted.

A little bit of knowledge is... well a little bit of knowledge.

Yes, but can you delete the files the Shortcut points to in C:\Users\Public\Downloads\Norton?

Hi,  mrmcallum. Yes, you can. They're the installation files which get downloaded any time you install/reinstall Norton.

You also have the choice of sending them to Documents for instance, and then deleting the files from Desktop.
