Cannot log in to manage passwords, etc.

Running Win 10 Pro 1607, build 14393.953, FF 52.0.1 (32-bit) and am not having a problem logging into my vault. What I AM having a problem with is logging in to the site, identitysafe.norton.com to manage my logins. Had no problem last week getting in but for the past two days plus, the progress icon just rotates and never connects. Not strictly a FF problem; none will access.

Temporary?
Thx,

Re: Cannot log in to manage passwords, etc.

I was just able to log in from Chrome on Win 10.

Have you restarted your computer? Not just shutdown and start up again, as if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled you do not get a complete shutdown that is needed to update running operating system files.

If you use Windows 8/8.1 or 10, there can be an issue with the Fast Start feature.. See more information here.

I am having the same issue.  Peterweb I tried disabling the Fast Startup feature and it did not solve the problem.  I just bought my computer and this is the first time I have used Windows 10.  On my old computer I never had this issue but it was running Vista.

Yes, yes and yes. :-) I never use Hibernate and Fast Start is disabled, along with browser cache cleaning after each session. It doesn't seem to be browser-dependent (they all exhibit the same issue).

I appreciate the interest and your reply!

To both

It sounds like a localized server issue. What part of the world are you in?

Not sure if this could have anything to do with your issue, but with a new computer, there can be trial versions of security products included. If it is not a Norton product, you need to fully remove that product with the removal utility for that software before installing Norton products. This will avoid possible unexplainable strange behavior on your system.

Re: Cannot log in to manage passwords, etc.

I'm in Texas, just SW of Houston, Fort Bend county. Not exactly the hinterland, but not Elephant's Breath, Wyoming, either. :-) Although your comment was not directed at me, I'm running NIS 2017 Premium, fully updated, as is my computer. I try to keep everything current. (former Systems Engineer in another life).

I wondered about server issues as well. Last year, after waiting a year +/- for the working iteration of the Identity Safe tool bar for FF, the first days were hectic as everyone was clamoring for access, giving the effect of, for want of a better term, a Denial of Service in the hours following its release. Not strictly the same thing, but after accessing the site so easily in the middle of the week, I thought that giving it a few days would help. Not so. Over thinking this...

Anyway...

I am in Versailles Ky.  My computer came with Mcafee but I have completely removed it.  Never had any server problems before.  What is even weirder is my boyfriend has a  separate account on this computer and he has no problems with Identity Safe.  He is more tech savvy than me and has done everything he knows to get it to work.

Re: Cannot log in to manage passwords, etc.

Seeing that one computer in the house works and the other does not is one if the issues seen here lately with the ID Safe. That is one thing making it difficult to get resolved. Some users are even seeing this with the same Norton Account on different computers.

A couple of users have found that reinstalling their Norton product has worked. If you want to try that, download and run the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool from   www.norton.com/nrnr

Be sure you read the Before you begin section, and run LiveUpdate manually a few times, restarting as necessary, until no updates are available.

Re: Cannot log in to manage passwords, etc.

I'll have to think about that. I have 5 computers at home, including one test 'mule' (Win 10 Insider, Fast Ring). All have Norton Security 2017 Premium but the 'mule'. I have this identical problem no matter what or whose computer I use, including some at work that I manage, with or without Norton.

The point being, I'm not certain how an R & R of NS would help. It doesn't seem to be a local problem, but rather something 'upstream'.

Re: Cannot log in to manage passwords, etc.

So, after a lengthy session with Norton Support, it would appear the the page/site identitysafe.norton.com will not be used for login management, for whatever reason. Rather the Logins window under Identity Safe on the Nortor Security product. Ok, I can use that, in fact I have in the past. It was just nice to see all my logins (276) on a page in thumbnails. You could easily find the duplicates, etc.
Anyway, I guess I'll shut up and go away, for now. :-)

Thanks for all the help and suggestions!
