Can't close NIS vault

I have never had this happen before.  I opened the vault to have a new login added.  When I tried to close the vault in the normal way, viz., by clicking on the icon on the lower right, nothing happens in either Chrome or IE browsers.  Further, when I try to close it in the NIS control panel it pops the details for that recently added login, but allows me no other options to close the vault.

Could the addition of a new login, from a website which NIS showed as being safe, have caused this?

NIS version 21.1.0.18.

Chrome version 31.0.1650.63 m.

Have you restarted your computer lately? This can fix all kinds of things.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

The problem persisted even after clearing the cache and closing both Chrome and IE.  I did reboot the machine and that fixed the problem.

Since I have never seen this behavior before, have you any idea what could have caused it?

FWIW, several times in the last few weeks I have had two, functioning NIS icons in the Windows 7 taskbar notification area.  It would come and go at various startups.  (I turn my computer off every night and cold start it every morning.)  I am guessing that it is not related to the original issue, and the double icon has not appeared today.

Restarting your computer could have allowed some updates to Norton Or Windows, or some other drivers on your system tha laa need to work together.

The 2 icon issue is known by Norton and a fix is being developed.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
