Chrome 48.0.2564.97 disabling Norton ToolBar 2015.5.6.92

Anyone have any idea on how to keep Chrome 48.0.2564.97  from disabling Norton ToolBar 2015.5.6.92?

Every time I run Chrome (48.0.2564.97 n) it disables Norton Security Toolbar (2015.5.6.92) due to additional privileges required by the toolbar. My Norton Security (22.5.5.15) is provided by my ISP, Comcast. I am running the latest version on Windows 10 (Build 1452).

The toolbar runs fine if I re-enable it until I end the session. As soon as I run a new session it repeats the scenario.

In Chrome go to Setting and then select "advanced sync settings" and disable extensions on "choose what to sync".  That worked for me and others.

Where are you finding that setting?

I checked the advanced settings, and I can't see anything like that.

The extensions page doesn't show it, either.

Sync Chrome data across devices

You should only sign in to Chrome from trusted computers. To keep your data safe, don't sign in if you're on a public computer.

When you're signed in to Chrome on different devices, you can choose what information to sync across them, like your bookmarks, history, passwords, and other settings. Learn how to sign in to Chrome.

Manage or change what gets synced

Computer
  1. Sign in to Google Chrome from a trusted computer.
  2. In the top-right corner of the screen, click the Chrome menu .
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Under "Sign in," click Advanced sync settings.
  5. Choose the amount of information you want to sync:
    • To sync all data, select Sync everything from the dropdown.
    • To choose what gets synced, select Choose what to sync from the dropdown, then toggle the checkbox next to each type of data.

Ah. Thanks.

I don't sign into Chrome because I use multiple Google accounts. I should look into whether or not they are separate.
