Chrome 64 Bit vs. toolbar

I have Chrome 64 Bit version  61.0.3163.100

Who knows my version of Norton Security. It says it's the most current, but doesn't say the version number.

Windows 64 Bit 7 Professional

The Identity Safe icon has moved to the end of the address bar, to the left of the vertical 3 dots to customize and control Google Chrome. It's gray.

Norton says I have to have toolbar running to use Identity Safe. When I go to Customize and Control google Chrome>More Tools>Extensions> It won't let me Enable Toolbar, and has a red comment in toolbar's description "This extension may have been corrupted.".

How do I get toolbar enabled? Do I have to uninstall and reinstall the whole suite of software? I don't see any way to download just Toolbar, or uninstall just it either.

I usually use ID Safe to search logins and go directly to my log in pages. Not having access to it is very frustrating.

Try the following url to activate it: https://identitysafe.norton.com/client?server=1

Yep,

Now I have a toolbar icon next to the still gray ID Safe icon.

Toolbar no longer has the red message and has been activated.

But ID Safe is still gray and not working when I click on it. It's enabled too.

Re: Chrome 64 Bit vs. toolbar

Hello

To get the version number of your Norton product, please go to the main page of  the program. On the upper right, you should see Help. Click on Help>General Information. Below that you should see About. Click on About and the 2nd listing should show you the Version Number. The latest one is 22.11.0.41. This one just came out in a phased in manner, so it may not have reached you yet.

If you don't have it, please try running your Live Update a few times and restarting a few times to see if you can pull it down from the servers.

Have a good one.

Thanks.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit Norton Core Security Plus 22.17.2.47 Core Firmware 282 I E 11 Chrome latest version.

Yes,

That's the version I'm running.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction to get that.

Re: Chrome 64 Bit vs. toolbar

So,

I disabled ID Safe, but left toolbar enabled for a couple of hours and closed down Chrome.

After a couple of hours, I opened Chrome, re-enabled ID Safe and when I refreshed the home page, the toolbar and ID Safe log in both came up. Both came up where they belong. Under the Favorites bar.

Don't know if it just took some time, or what. But it works now.

 Hi CHennecy,

I am not 100% sure about Chrome, but I know there are settings/changes that when made in both IE and FF browsers, the browser needs to be restarted for the change to take effect.  Bolded text in your quote above could have done the trick.
