Re: complaint

Curious, did you ask Norton - Chat with Official Norton Support - for help.

Spyhunter 5 is not a free program.  You can download the software for free and see if it finds malware on your computer, but in order to remove the malware you must buy the software.

Re: complaint

colin thorogood,

Curious, what is your Norton Security product version number.

Curious, how n' why did you choose SpyHunter5.

Did SpyHunter decrypt encrypted files.

Um, how n' why do you know you were infected with "grandcrab ransomware" or GandCrab Trojan. What did you see.  What symptoms.

Thanks

Find the version number of your product

  1. In the Norton product main window, click Help.

  2. In the Help Center window, under General Information, click About.

Um, did you subscribe to SpyHunter or were able to use their one-off scan and receive, subject to a 48-hour waiting period, one remediation and removal.

Re: complaint

Do you mean encrypted?   If so, your other choice of software did not resolve your issue. It just detected it.

So as you still seem to be infected, you should give SoulAsylum's link a try from above for the Norton Virus Protection Promise.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Oh, so SpyHunter 5 did not (decrypt encrypted files) resolve opening post issue.

Unfortunately, files encrypted by GandCrab V5.0.4/5.0.5 are not decryptable at this time without paying the ransom since these versions have been reported by Marcelo Rivero (Malware Intelligence Analyst) to break the BitDefender decryption tool so it will not work...(see here).
