Has anyone experienced a problem with Norton Security not clearing cookies? Since January 20, Norton has not reported it has found and cleared a cookie. I have checked all settings and they are normal.
Have you checked the settings in your browser? What is your cookie scan set to? Have you run any other security program which would clean cookies like the free version of SuperAntiSpyware?
Browser settings normal. Cookie scan set to "remove". The only other security program is the free Malwarebytes. I will try SuperAntispyware to see if it removes cookies. I looked in Chrome and it has a long list of cookies. I use both IE and Chrome.
Downloaded SuperAntispyware and it detected 194 cookies. That would tell me something is up with Norton.
If you want to clean your cookies after every browsing session the easy way, just download CCleaner.

I don't recommend using the registry cleaning section, as you might inadvertently delete needed registry files.
I uninstalled My Norton and reinstalled using the Remove and Reinstall tool. Will have to watch for a while to see if problem is corrected.
Please remember to run live update so that you get updated to version 126.96.36.199. As far as I know, I don't think the remove and reinstall tool has been updated to the 22.6 version. Even if it has, you still need to run Live Update and restart after you are all done.
I am at the 188.8.131.52. I ran live update immediately after using the RNR tool.
Thanks for the suggestion.
One of my machines ran into this issue last month. The Norton Remove and Reinstall tool did not fix the problem with Norton Security not detecting tracking cookies. I had to use the Norton Removal Tool to resolve the issue.
I would be interested to know if the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool fixed the issue for you. The quickest way to test whether the issue has been resolved or not is to visit a number of sites that you know contain cookies (e.g. news sites) and then run a Norton Quick Scan manually to see if tracking cookies are detected.
Please let us know the results of the test above. Please don't run the Norton Removal Tool at this stage as Symantec may be interested in taking a closer look at your Norton logs to determine what's causing this issue.
The Norton RNR tool may have fixed it. I can't use the Norton Removal too because it keeps saying that I have Norton Utilities 15 on my PC which I can't find. My first choice was to use the NR tool but as described I could not. I will show this as repaired for now.
