Copy spam settings

Hi. I'm about to move my stuff to a new PC. So is it possible to copy my norton spam setup, with all the unwanted mail addresses from the old to the new pc ?

Re: Copy spam settings

Unless you want to make a system image and use that on the new computer, you will probably lose the spam settings you want.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Thanks for your fast reply. I'm moving  from xp to win 10. It seems to addr.dat contains anti-spam data, but I do not have permission to replace it.

Re: Copy spam settings

If the data is there, you can copy the file. First you have to go into Norton Settings - Administrative Settings and temporarily disable Norton Product Tamper Protection. You should then be able to copy any Norton files you need. Be sure to turn on NPTP after you are finished, as that protects you Norton from malware making changes to it.

Re: Copy spam settings

Hello

What email program did you use and what will you be using.? Don't forget to remove any trial version security program on the new computer with the removal tool from the other company and then restart. Also it would be a good idea to turn off Fast Startup.

Thanks.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Norton Core Security Plus 22.17.3.50 Core Firmware 282 I E 11 Chrome latest version.
