This forum thread needs a solution.

when I do a search in www.google.com it autodirects to cse.google.com, some erroneous link such as: https:// cse . google . com/cse?q=new+stuff&sa=Search&ie=UTF-8&cx=partner-pub-4683864461030864:3868413634#%9C&gsc.tab=0&gsc.q=new%20stuff&gsc.page=1

1) Why isn't Norton 360 dealing with this?

2) How can I get Norton to target this and fix it!

looking in youtube I see a fairly complex solution which involves deleting files etc and I wish to avoid that!

thanks very much

Re: cse.google

This is a browser problem. You can simply download Google Chrome Cleanup Tooll. https://www.google.com/chrome/cleanup-tool/ Also download MalwareBytes AdwCleaner. https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/

Re: cse.google

1. https://cse.google.com/cse/ is also known as Google Custom Search, officially. And to use that feature, your Google Account or Google AdSense accout will be required. Then, plz try signing out your GG ID > clean browser cache > reopen yr Chrome and, Google later.

If so, Norton protection won't take care of your Google account, nor the usage of Chrome.

Anyway, you can Google without logging into your Google ID.

2. As a double check, plz check your programs list for PUPs. To do so, you may give Revo Uninstaller a go if you can't work on those undesired programs yourself. Then, update your Norton, scan your system in Safe Mode later.

And, take a closer look at Norton Virus Protection Promise if you think your PC is infected.

Thx :)
