Delete Back up of nonexistent Device

I have a 1.5Gb back up of a device (old phone) I haven't had since 2014. When I try to manage back up sets it only recognizes my current laptop back up. I'm bumping up on my maximum storage space so the 1.5Gb would be nice to free up. Any suggestions?

How did you backup that phone? Norton backups do not work with mobile devices.

If you used a utility to back the phone up on your computer, and then used Norton to back that up from the computer, you can delete the backup set. See this Norton KB article.   https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v19828921_ns_...

Tbh I don't know how that device got backed up on the online backup (it was my son's phone) and it was so long ago. I was just poking around the backup section on the My Norton site and noticed there was a set was named after that old phone's ID#.  I've tried what you suggested but when I select "Delete Backup Set" on the app I get the error message "This Backup Set cannot be deleted as it's your only backup set..." So apparently it can't see the other set I have on the My Norton account site (see below).

When you open the Backup feature in your Norton product, were you able to choose the second backup set?

What do you see if you click on the backup set from your Norton Account?

If I click on "Default set {36GMH91)"? It opens the back up and I can see all the files and download them but there is no option to delete the set.

And what about the drop down list in your Norton product? Can you choose a second backup set?

Maybe time to contact Norton Support and see if they can fix this for you.    www.norton.com/contactcs

If you do contact Norton, please let us know what they can or cannot do.
