Devices versus Services in Manage Norton

Hi,

Are Symantec ever going to fix Manage Norton? My Devices pages is complete nonsense, whereas Services is absolutely correct.

Since fully uninstalling and replacing NIS with NS on a couple of laptops (been fine for a few weeks now), suddenly on Manage Norton on Devices it's decided I still have NIS and now also NS installed on each, except the NIS ones (no longer installed) need Renewed, leaving the Device with a wee red X.

On Devices if I click the wee dustbins to try and tidy it up it tries to uninstall (something that isn't installed) and then gives up, so I can't tidy it myself. Do they know about this kind of thing?

The Services page, meanwhile, is completely correct as to what's installed where when etc.

I don't really want to "Chat" etc as I'm worried they'd make it worse...! It's nuts...

Thanks,

David

Re: Devices versus Services in Manage Norton

When you delete items from the devices page, it can take some time to update the page. If you log out and back into the Manage page you may see the changes that were made.

Be careful when you remove the devices. If it is in fact a current device, it will disable your Norton on that device and you will have to re activate the install.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Devices versus Services in Manage Norton

hi David

I completely agree with you about the mess that Norton Account is, we were promised many months ago that Norton were working on this to fix the problems. I've had problems even with the Services Section.

Hopefully, Norton will sort it out very soon.

Re: Devices versus Services in Manage Norton

Hi,

Yeah, it's just very irritating. There's no point in wee dustbins etc to tidy up if they don't actually work and no way of removing nonsense Devices that have long since had nothing on them because they are in the bin (literally)... and had Norton stuff properly uninstalled before hitting the bin (before anyone comments!)...

Cheers,

David

Re: Devices versus Services in Manage Norton

The dust bins do work for me. As do the little pencil icons for editing the names. I have had no trouble removing devices from the Device tab.

The main complaint is the naming differences between the Devices and the Subscription tabs.
