Disk thrashing since recent update

Since a recent update, norton has been consuming 100% of my disk time. It appears to start with a scan and just never stops. I end up having to reboot the pc since nothing else will stop it.  It has only been the last 2 weeks. Looks like norton was last updated on 3/19.

Re: Disk thrashing since recent update

I am experiencing a similar problem; upon reboot Win10 loads and then the HDD shows 85-100 disk usage in Task Manager/Processes. This often lasts up to 5 minutes, long past my typical startup delay. During the heavy usage, my system is essentially unusable. This, like Bzybee stated, started approximately 2 weeks ago. I have attached a screen shot of the Processes Tab in TM, and a scroll through all open processes shows little or no usage among the other processes during the "thrashing" event.

Re: Disk thrashing since recent update

So I completely removed Norton. Re-installed it and I am still getting the disk trashing. It is making the desktop unusable.
