Re: Disturbing Norton logo

This logo is related to the new 'experimental' Norton Identity Safe extension for Firefox. It is a know issue with this version where the logo gets placed in strange places on web pages. I have also seen it appear on the Google Translation pages.

Sometimes a page refresh will remove the icon. The only way to ensure this problem goes away is to disable the extension and wait until Norton releases a newer version.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Disturbing Norton logo

Hello

This is just a guess. I don't know if it will work or not. Would something like Ad Block Plus work or some other extension in Firefox or another program block the image temporarily until this issue is fixed? Just an idea that popped into this ancient brain.

Thanks.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 7 Pro 64 bit Norton Core Security Plus 22.17.2.47 Core Firmware 282 I E 11 Chrome latest version.

Re: Disturbing Norton logo

I have AdBlock Plus and still see the ID Safe icons showing in strange places.

Re: Disturbing Norton logo

AdBlock Plus uses filter lists, so it would not be able to independently decide to block a rogue Norton icon.

Adblock Plus itself has no functionality; it doesn't block anything until you "tell" it what to block by adding external filter lists.
