does online backup update modified files on scheduled scans?

i have backed up my documents folder using norton online backup .

when the next scheduled back up runs, aside from adding any new files to the back up folder online, will it update all my modified files since last backed up?

so it will just scan from previous back up and add new files and update the moified files..duh ?

sorry if this sound like a stupid question but after my scroogle docs/drive experience i have to ask...what a mess that is.

thanks !

Re: does online backup update modified files on scheduled scans?

Hello Roybatty,

Yes it does backup modified files.  There is also an option when restoring to restore from an older date as well if you need a previous version.  The only way to confirm this though so that you are more comfortable is to perform a test restore.  I recommend this about every three to six months just to at least look at your restore sets to visually make sure all desired files are backed up on your account.  By doing so you can know ahead of time if there is a specific file that is not in your backup set that you really want backed up.

For example backing up your documents folder data by type may not get everything in that folder because there is a vast variety of file extensions that are considered documents.  Norton Online Backup has included a majority of the many file extension types, but I cannot guarantee that they have the ones created by "Mom & Pop" software shops.

Basically it is always better to be safe than sorry.  I like to make sure that customers are getting all of their desired data backed up at all times.  Remember you can always add custom options like specific files, folders, or file extensions.

Yes it does. Nicely guided by the representative.
