Is the Early Launch Anti-Malware Scan supposed to run at every startup of the computer ?
I ask because looking in my scan history (which only goes back for 3 weeks) I only see one entry for that dated today.
I notice too that only the most recent ELAM scan is logged. The scan does run every time Windows starts, so it appears the scan history is not retained beyond the most recent event. The ELAM scan is simply a check of some of the drivers that load at start-up to make sure that nothing malicious is attempting to load. Because the scan is solely for the purpose of watching what is loading, it may be that only the most recent boot-up has any significance making it worth logging.
Thanks SendOfJive. Strange that it logs a scan and then erases the old record at the next start-up, but at least I know now that it runs every day.
