Re: Erase online backup and start over

Hello Tom,

Did support have you remove your current profile and uninstall the software to start fresh?  If not, this is the first thing you should do. This will free up your space used on your account so that you can start fresh.

You can find the option to "Remove a computer" at the top of your window after logging into your account.

Re: Erase online backup and start over

I could not find "Remove a computer".  I'm running Norton 360 on a Pentium 4 3.0 MHz with Windows XP Pro SP3 that I built in 2004.  I have been working with Norton paid virus support (case# 07293084) with malware problems.  Norton 360 has been removed and reinstalled several times.  The last time time version 20.1 was installed and it has automatically been up graded to 20.2.1.22.  Once reinstalled my backup ID's are gone and I'm left with a "Default Back up".

Is there away to reconnect the missing backu ID's to thes existing backup files without starting a new backup.  I have not been able to view my Secure Online Storage in the Norton Backup Drive.  Should it be there?

I have since down loaded and requrested a complere purge on form Data_Management_Restore_Purge.  I have the parts for a new computer, but my goal now is to stablelize what I've got with a online data backup.

I also realize I may not know enough about what I'm doing.  Any help would be great.

Re: Erase online backup and start over

The Norton Backup Drive should be visible under Computer. It's possible it isn't if no backups have yet to be performed or it doesn't see the prior history. Give the following a try to reconnect the older data sets. Once done you should see the older history and be able to remove content.

Open Norton 360's main client.

Click on Manage on the right hand side.

Click on Log Out located to the right. It is a darker grey color so it may be a

little hard to see.

Once done close Norton 360 and re-open it.

Go back to Manage again and re-login to the Norton Account.

Once completed go back to the main Norton 360 screen and click on Backup.

Click on Restore Files.

Click on View All

There will be a link on the bottom of the next screen that says Refresh List.

It'll connect to storage from there and retrieve the past history.

Select the set and click Close.

Close out of Norton 360 and give the system a restart to be safe.

Once its back up verify if online backup has properly activated.
