Exporting from new password manager

I need to review all of my passwords held in Password Manager.

In 2019 I asked how to export my passwords to Excel and in April 2019 I was provided with a solution however this does not work in the new Password Manager.

As it is currently set up, it is not possible to review all of my passwords unless I a) open up each and everyone individually or b) download them so I can review them in, for example, Excel.

I have received a message from Firefox claiming that there has been a breach on two websites that I use and I need to review all websites which use the same password (yes  know that a different password should be used for every website however there are occassions when I do need to log into them on machines which do not allow me to access my Norton account therefore, short of writing them down I have to restrict the number of variations that I use).

I therefore need to find out which of my many logins use the same password so I can change them.

Norton reports when passwords are getting beyond their shelf life but does not offer a solution on how to update them. If such a solution could be offered it would make the whole process less of a time consuming exercise

Re: Exporting from new password manager

Hello BourneDyke. Opening the vault from within the Norton user interface you can export your passwords from there. Its available in the current Norton version 22.20.4.57. One possibility is to export the logins, make changes to them then import back into your vault.

Cheers

Have you looked at the Dashboard feature of your Norton Password Manager, NPM?  Open you vault from a browser extension, then click on the NPM icon. Then click on Vault at the bottom left of the little NPM window. Just above your logins should be a big red bar for the Dashboard. Click on Fix now at the right side and it will bring up your logins with information about possible issues with them. Click on the category of issue you wish to address, then you can click on a login you wish to update. Then you can click on Change Now to be taken to the web site to change your password there.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Exporting from new password manager

Thanks for your reply.

The problem was that I had opened Norton Password Manager from the icon on my browser. If the vault is then opened from there the export feature is not available.

Your solution requires Norton itself to be loaded and for Password Manager to be opened from there which then allows settings to open the import/export screen.

Re: Exporting from new password manager

I was intending to use the dasboard feature once I had indentified all the passwords that I need to update.  I have now managed to export the passwords to Excel however, since I was using commas in some passwords, the conversion from text to columns did create some problems.

The rule for any passwords must therefore be DO NO USE COMMAS.

Thanks for your suggestion
