failed backup

When I attempt to do a backup I get the following message "Another Backup operation is running. Please try again later."  It does not go away when I try to cancel the backup.  It does not appear in the process list in Task Manager.  This is also preventing me from running a full scan of the system.  Any ideas on how to clear this problem?

Hi higfam4.

Welcome to the Norton Community Forums.

Try just closing down your Norton application and reboot/restart your system then try again.

If that does not work come back and we will try and come up with some more ideas.  In this case it would be helpful to know what Norton product and operating system you are using.  Also the location you are trying to use for the backup.

I am having the same issue.  When ever I attempt to start the backup manager I get the warning:

"Another Backup operation is running.  Please try again later"

I have rebooted several times, but to no avail.  Same issue occurs, and I can't start the Backup Manager.

This is running on a Win 7 machine, and am trying to save to Norton's Online cloud.

Hi tallboy42.

Given what you have tried and the fact that higfam4 never came back, I wonder if it is a temporary issue with the Norton servers.  Have you been trying for long?  Does trying 24 hrs later give the same problem?

I tried rebooted my PC one more time and was able to run Backup Manager and perform a backup.  SO the issue seems to have corrected itself.
