Firefox user....my online safety keeps going off.

I use Firefox. My "online safety" tab keeps going off, and resetting to Edge, which I do not use. Any suggestions? This just started yesterday (5/10/2019)

How often does the setting get reset? If you reset that setting to your preferred browser, does it reset again?

FWIW  that setting for Default Browser only affects links within the Norton products. It does not change your Windows system default browser. So you could just leave it set on a browser that shows you are protected.

The setting resets to “edge” after a long (overnight) period of inactivity.

What you can do is install the Safe Web extension in Edge. That should stop the Online Safety tab from going off. If you are not using Edge, it will not affect your system having the extension installed.

Re: Firefox user....my online safety keeps going off.

You could just ignore that the Online Safety pillar is greyed out. It will not affect your Norton extensions in Firefox, or lessen your system's protection.

When you look at the default browser that is presented in the Online Safety pillar, click on the browser that is listed. It shows the browsers installed on your system. Does it show (default) beside Firefox? If not, which browser is shown with (default) beside it? Maybe you have to change the default browser in Windows.

If Firefox is shown as the default, and if you do want to enable an extension in Edge to stop the greying of the Online Safety pillar in Norton, open the Online Safety pillar and click on the default browser and choose Edge. Then on the same page, click on Browser Extensions. That will open Edge and present a page to install extensions. Click on Install for the Safe Web extension, and follow any instructions to accept the install.
