Getting Blue Screen Of Depth on Windows 10 with alert on IDSvia64.sys

Hello,

The last couple of weeks I started getting BSOD (Blue Screen Of Depth) on several PCs.
I am using Windows 10 with Norton Security on all of those PCs.
The BSOD is coming with the following error: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (code D1).
Also the BSOD is indicating that the faulty driver is IDSvia64.sys, which is related to Norton from what I understand.
I parsed Windows memory.dmp file for more detailed information (see attached).

Anyone encountered this issue?
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi @NoamZ,

Thanks for reporting an issue in Norton Community Forums. We have one more similar BSOD case related to IDSvia64.sys driver and Cryptomator software reported here. Could you please check the thread and let us know if its the same scenario?

Hi Sunil_GA,

Thank you for your quick response.

Yes, I actually found the Cryptomator thread you are referring to right after I submitted my own thread.
I reviewed it and indeed they both look like very similar issues.
I am not using Cryptomator (I actually haven't heard of it till now), but it is mentioned in the Cryptomator thread that the issue "occurs when running Cryptomator for an extended period", and that is exactly what happens to me, only with a different application.

The application I am running is a in-house application we are developing, and the last couple of weeks, after this application runs for a while (a couple of hours), the BSOD occurs.
Please note that the BSOD happens when I am running a version of our application that haven't changed for a long time, and was running without any BSOD issues for many months.

As I've said, it happened on several different PCs, all running Norton Security version 22.9.4.8, except one that is running version 22.9.1.12.

Hi @NoamZ,

Thanks for the details. Could you please provide complete memory dump for further investigation?  I have sent you a message with instructions for upload.

Re: Getting Blue Screen Of Depth on Windows 10 with alert on IDSvia64.sys

Hi,

I've attached a couple of rar files, each containing a memory dump of a different machine.
In addition to the memory dump, each rar file also contains a txt file which is a parsing of the memory dump I did, although I think there a few ways to parse memory dump files, so I am not sure it will be useful for you. Hopefully it will be.

The software I am using is an in-house application which is part of the product my company develops.
It is written mainly in C++, and is developed using Visual Studio 2015.
Our application is not like Cryptomator which is used for encrypting files, it does something completely different.
Our application does have an interface with other HW devices, as well as an interface to a web GUI that resides on the machines localhost (via TCP server).
If you have any specific questions about our application that may be useful for your investigation, I would be happy to provide that info (although I naturally have limitations of not revealing our IP).

Thank you.

Re: Getting Blue Screen Of Depth on Windows 10 with alert on IDSvia64.sys

Just to add some more info:

I disabled Norton Security on one of my machines and let my application run overnight.
When Norton Security was enabled, BSOD would occur after a while. But with Norton Security disabled, my application ran overnight without any problems (BSOD did not occur).
