Gone Over to the Dark Side

After many years using the Local Vault I have gone to the Cloud Vault.

I have been seduced by the new Edge and Firefox extensions.

With the new Windows Creators Update I have switched to Edge and it is really nice.

I had been using IE 11 with a Local Vault but IE has been flaky for a while, although it seems fine after the latest Windows upgrade.

I still have the Local Vault as a keepsake in case it is needed.

I exported my logins from my Local Vault and then imported to a new Cloud Vault and it retained my Tags which can be used if I open the Cloud Vault through the Norton GUI. But as I am getting use to the new extensions it is not necessary for daily use but is handy to edit any logins.

It would be nice if Norton could add the Tag access to the new extensions.

I saw the future and have embraced it.

Re: Gone Over to the Dark Side

Jim,

I have not done the Creator's update yet, but quite a few of us have been using both Local and Could Vault synching via an Export (usually of the Cloud Vault) and then an Import of that into the Local Vault.  I also have been primarily using IE  both with the Local and the Cloud Vault.  I do have Chrome, Firefox 52.0.2, and IE on my Comcast NSS on a WIN 7 system and all seems to be working fine (despite the limitations with the new FF extension.

I agree that it would be nice if there more Setting options within the FF NTB toolbar.

Re: Gone Over to the Dark Side

I've been trying to figure out the current state of Norton NIS and EDGE, but I haven't found a notice or explanation on the Symantec site thus far.  I have tried EDGE and like it a lot.  It is blazing fast.  So, I changed it to default.  Immediately, Norton popped up and told me I was not being protected, and to change back to Firefox.

Is there a concise, clear statement regarding EDGE available?  I do not use "vault" so does everything else in NIS now work with EDGE?  If so, does the user get any live feedback from NIS in EDGE, same as other browsers?

Any info would help.  Thanks.

The Dark Side just bit me in the arse.

Can't get to online vault. "Something went wrong"

Thank God I still have a Local Vault.

The only Norton extension available is for the Identity Safe. So if you are using Edge, you will not be able to use the Safe Search or Safe Web notifications for other searches.

You will still be protected from any malware entering your system by the other layers of protection in your Norton product.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
