How do I get the FF17 patch?

Hi all.

I've got the standalone Identity Safe which isn't working with the new Firefox and was wondering how I'm supposed to get the patch?

I see the sticky that lists the different patches, but there's no way for me to download them. I have no live update as I do on my other computers with the full NIS 2013 and I see no links to grag them from here.

Thanks.

Re: How do I get the FF17 patch?

Hi,

This is how you have to do live update manually in the standalone product:

1. Launch browser with toolbar

2. Click on the Norton button on the toolbar and select About Identity safe from the list

3.Click on Check for new updates from the window which opens

4.The live update will run and pull you the updates.

Apart from this, Live update runs automatically for every four hours. Here incase if you are already updated to FF 17 and see no toolbar, just open your IE and follow the above steps for the manual live update. On reboot, you should see the Toolbar compatible with FF 17.

Thanks Prasanna for that information.  I have discussed this with BK in QA in the past and it took awhile for him to get it through my thick skull how you could update one bowser's (FF) NTB using another browser (IE).

Bottom line was when he provided the following information:

"-->if you have NIS or N360 then there isn't a browser LU function in the toolbar.  You have to run LU from the product.

--> if you have the standalone than you run LU from the toolbar.  Doesn't matter what supported browser you use the LU functionality should be there.   If however you have FF and you aren't compatible then you don't have a toolbar in which to run LU from,  so you need to switch over to another one."

Hopefully this info will clear up any confusion anyone else may have.
