How do I remove AsdStore.club from my comuter?

Hi,

I just renewed my yearly subscription but lately have run into a problem.

When using my Chrome browser to go to a new site I often receive a message, I think is from Norton, that I am accessing the AdsStore.club site and it is dangerous.  I opt out of entering the site but can find no way on my Norton links on how to permanently remove this from my computer.   Can anyone help?  Respectfully,  Walter

It may be a malicious ad on a site you are visiting that is redirecting you to a malicious site. So it is not on your computer, which is why Norton cannot remove it.

You may be able to stop this kind of redirect by installing an ad blocker in your browser.

This will get rid of it. Its rather common with chrome users. Below info is taken from Google's chrome site offering this tool. It was a follow-up for a user who experienced the same issue as you.

This application will scan and remove software that may cause problems with Chrome, such as crashes, unusual startup pages or toolbars, unexpected ads you can't get rid of, or otherwise changing your browsing experience.

Re: How do I remove AsdStore.club from my comuter?

This may still be malicious ads on a site you are visiting. But you may have picked up a PUP, a Possibly Unwanted Program. While they are annoying, they do not cause damage to your system. Some people actually want the 'Features' offered by these programs. They are usually downloaded alongside a legitimate download when you do not uncheck the option for the additional download.

Norton products concentrate on malware that can damage your system, that is why some PUPs are not detected.

I would suggest a second opinion scan using the FREE version of Malwarebytes. You can find it here http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/

Be sure you do not accept the offer of the free trial of the Premium version.

Hi and thanks for the response.  I previously went to the screen in your URL but was unable to find any information as to how to remove the AdsStore.club annoyance.  Can you enlighten this 82 year old as to what he is overlooking?  Respectfully,   Walter

Hi and thanks for the response.   I am a normal user of Malwarebytes and run it often but it does not appear to recognize the AdsStore.club annoyance.  Thanks again for your time.  Respectfully,  Walter

Re: How do I remove AsdStore.club from my comuter?

It is probably not something actually on your computer. If you go to a web site with ads, which is almost all web sites, some ads are posted in a way that they redirect your browser to a possibly malicious web page. Unless you block those ads from loading, you will be redirected.

In Chrome, click on the 3 dots at the right of the address bar, then click on More Tools, then on Extensions. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Get Extensions. In the search box at the top left, search for "ad block". You can choose one from the list and install it in your Chrome browser. I use Ad Block Plus and have not been affected by this kind of redirect.

Hello

Here is the information that was reported  by Safe Web about that malware.

https://www.symantec.com/security_response/attacksignatures/detail.jsp?asid=27834

It's the kind of thing that warns you have an old version of your browser and you need to update it.

Thanks.

It's the kind of thing that falsely  warns you have an old version of your browser and you need to update it.

The reason it is malware is that there is nothing wrong with your browser. They just try to scare you into clicking on an update button, or call a 'support' phone number in the warning page that can do strange/dangerous things to your computer.
