How to get rid of backup blue tags on file icons?

I reset the computer, Norton got confused and I had to reactivate. Norton came back with backup on and tagged pending files even though I hadn't created a backup profile(s) or...

Settings/Backup, removed the 'X' and now the Norton screen showed backup off.

I booted.

However, the blue tags are still on desktop files.

How do rid myself of these blue tags?

Mark

Hello Mark. Give this suggestion from Guru yank a shot: https://community.norton.com/en/comment/5674373#comment-5674373

The 'x' is grayed out. Any ideas on how to enable editing to remove the x?

Hi markg2,

If you enable Backup via the square on the main dashboard - it will permit you to uncheck the overlays.  However once you go back to the square and disable Backup again - it will permit the overlays to return to the gray X.  Not sure if that will get rid of the blue tags or not.
