How to get rid of green Norton Safe Web icons, but not disable Norton Identity Safe password filling.

How do you turn off Norton Safe Web where these annoying distracting green icons show during web search's.  I already tried disabling the Norton tool bar in IE and in Chrome the extension for Norton Toolbar. It disables the Norton safe search, but then the Norton identity safe (password fill) doesn't work in both IE and Chrome (and those are enabled both in IE and Chrome).

I also tried turning off Norton Safe Search using the popup by clicking the three dots or whatever that is and those buttons or slides are locked--- nothing happens.

Also, instead of green icons all over the place (and the popup is constantly display when the cursor moves over the green icon), just show a site that is not safe and that's it.  Why do we need the page littered with distraction.

Using:  Norton Internet Security 21.7.0.11

Yeah, go into Settings for your Norton product.  Safe Surfing >  Site Rating Icon in Search Results > Off > Apply

Hi bjm. I don't have this setting, I look high and low throughout the sotware, Norton Internet Security.  The most logical place is the web setting (see document), nothing in there like this.

Oh sorry, I have that Setting in Norton Security
ID Safe has a check box for Enable Safe Web....

More complaints re where are my search Icons ... not why so many search Icons

Site owners want the green Icon to attract traffic...so, logically all sites have rating / Icon vs only non-safe sites.

It was just odd that things I used to see in the NIS (Norton Internet Security) were not there, it's been awhile since I been in there and the slide buttons I mentioned earlier that were locked made me think NIS somehow was corrupt.  I did a LiveUpdate for the heck of it and the virus definitions would not update, the short story is I had to run the Norton Removal and Reinstall too.

Now, everything shows up including the option to turn the safe web search off (see document). The slide buttons work too.  My wife told me that the power went off few days ago and the computer was on--- that probably screwed up NIS, who knows.

Prior to the removing NIS, it complained about Norton Utilities 15 and 16 on the computer, but I removed those a long time ago.  So, I had to go through the registry and remove every reference to Norton utilities 15 and 16 manually.  What a pain.

Anyway, problem resolved.  Thanks for your help. bjm

Mark.

ps: time to get a APC Power Backup

Yeah, I think you should leave Scam Insight On and still achieve = no Icons in search results.
