Hi surfergirlGG2,

I am sorry to have to tell you this, but the Norton Online backup only backs up your documents, mail, pictures, photos and other personal files.  It is not designed to back up your Windows 7 operating system or program files and it does not create a system image.

The good news is that the personal files you have stored with Norton Secure Online backup will be available to you in the event you have to reinstall your operating system.

Your best bet is to post your situation to the computer manufacturer's community forums or to a a forum which specializes in Windows 7 such as:

https://www.w7forums.com/

https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/167/windows-7/

These are just a few of the communities dealing with Windows 7 issues and you can find more by means of an internet search.

There is also https://www.sevenforums.com/ but they have a habit of bashing Norton for no good reason and may give you a hard time telling you not to use it as your security product.  Try the others first.

Let us know how you do.

Thank you Phil_D I will check the forums links you suggested. I have been using Norton Products since 2010 and haven't  had any problems yet.I don't know why their always bashing  Norton.I bought a new HP laptop that came with a trial version of McAfee and when I asked HP support how to uninstall McAfee Why T wanted to remove it and when I said I wanted to use Norton they started bashing Norton.
