How to undo automatic program block

On my mom's Windows 10 (x64) system, with Norton Security, I installed a "Windows Store" app HD HomeRun View. When I ran it, Norton popped up saying it had been automatically blocked (well, rather it then said I had blocked it, which I had not.) I open the alert but no actions (such as Unblock) are available. Ok, so I go into the Firewall settings, Program Control and look for the program it blocked. Not there. I then try to add a rule for it, but Windows won't let me browse into the WindowsApps folder to find it (the alert gives the full path to the program), and I seem unable to relax the security to allow Norton to see the folder.

I consider myself a Norton "power user", but this has me stumped. How do I allow this program to access the network?

Re: How to undo automatic program block

Hi,stevel. Try going to Settings/Antivirus/Scans and Risks, and excluding it from the options menu listed there.

Hi Stevel,

That particular user account of your system might not be having read access to that WindowsApps folder. You can give a try by giving read access to that folder.

Thanks,

F 4 E, this was a firewall block, not antivirus.

Murahari, yes, as I said, that is a problem. I didn't figure out how to give read access, but more troubling was the Norton software automatically blocking a program and not giving me any mechanism to unblock it or even list it as blocked (other than in the alert, and the program not working because access was blocked.)

That area I highlighted, is where you set Exclusions.

That still doesn't help - that's where you set antivirus exclusions, but it has no effect on the firewall block. It's irritating that there is no process to undo the block (which it says I asked for, but I didn't.)

Hello

Would a fire wall reset help any?

Thanks.
