I didn not pay to have ID Safe disabled for months

My subscription to NIS was partially based on having Norton ID Safe auto-fill available for Firefox.

The 1st solution was to not upgrade Firefox, but Norton, in its infinite wisdom, decided to issue a update that disabled ID Safe even in older versions.

This problem has taken months, is now almost 2 weeks past the estimated "fixed by" date and is not yet repaired.

I have family & clients who have relied on this feature, which is part of the contract for the subscription, and have been severely inconvenienced by this inexcusable lapse in reliability.

I can only assume that repeat customers are no longer part of the Norton business plan.

How do I go about getting a refund for my ( and others') subscription(s)?

I agree the least they could do is let us remove the update so we can use the old Firefox again I am using ie now and hate it

Re: I didn not pay to have ID Safe disabled for months

I have  FF, Chrome and IE loaded and I cannot get autofill to work on any.

After 7 years of Norton  BS -- this time I'm going to spend my time looking for an alternative

It has become painfully obvious that Norton does NOT test their code.

How can I continue to spend money for a service that Norton has proven it cannot or will not provide.

To all the people sticking with Norton -- Good Luck - you'll need it, but as for me this is where I get off this train wreck.

Re: I didn not pay to have ID Safe disabled for months

According to the latest useless info from Norton on Nov 17 "We will be releasing another compatibility patch shortly to restore this feature to all supported versions of Firefox."

I am so tired of the BS.

My subscription expires in a few weeks and I will NOT be renewing my Norton subscription.

IMO Norton has violated the mutual contract of my subscription and owes me for the lack of the ID Safe Function for the last months.

I will be evaluating alternative Internet security and will post proper alternatives here as time permits.

Re: I didn not pay to have ID Safe disabled for months

Hello

I've read thru some other customers' posts who have tested and researched other security products. They said that all of the security programs are having problems with keeping up with Mozilla and especially so since this big change. They may support it, but they getting a lot of errors. A lot of users of Firefox are using the free version of Last Pass for a temporary substitution for the ID Safe so that they can keep the good quality of Norton security. The choice however is your to make.

If you decide not to renew, please use the control panel method of removal first, then the Norton Removal tool. Then you can check for any left over folders or files so that you can get a clean install of what ever security product you choose. Hope you won't consider this as B.S.

Thanks.

Re: I didn not pay to have ID Safe disabled for months

I looked at Last Pass.

Although the reviews I read say it can import password lists from other sources ( I assume that ID Safe is one of those sources ) I cannot find anything on their web site about importing password lists.

They don't seem to have any FAQ or Contact info either.

That bothers me a bit.

For anyone that's a Costco member, I just got an email that they have McAfee IS unlimited for $25 at the moment. I've been a Norton (not Symantec) customer since Norton Utilities for DOS, but i've had it with the current Symantec corporate attitude. Think i'll give McAfee a spin.

You have posted your question in a thread about malfunctioning software.

You will get a better response if you start your own thread about how to pay for Norton.

Re: I didn not pay to have ID Safe disabled for months

Hello Helium2

Those popups appear once your subscription goes down to 30 days. The way to get rid of them is to renew your subscription which I don't think you will be able to do unless you can try renewing it at the Norton eStore. You will most likely find the newer products much cheaper and newer engines to scan with plus more seats and a wider choice of devices.

Thanks.

Yeah...It's not like I want to go through "the Norton experience" again.

I am working on a new solution for my clients.
