ID Safe not filling mynortonaccount.com

N360v6.4.0.9

If I go to https://www.mynortonaccount.com/amsweb/default.do with Firefox 16.0.2,  IE9 or Chrome 22.0.1229.94 m Norton Identity Safe will not fill my login details.  If I click the link from N360 GUI ID Safe does fill login details.

Thanks.

Re: ID Safe not filling mynortonaccount.com

Even if I manually enter my details I cannot sign in to https://www.mynortonaccount.com/amsweb/default.do.

I am using the Local version of Norton Identity Safe.

I can access my account details if I sign into Norton Management and go to the My Account Tab and also if I click the Access My Account link from N360 GUI.

Re: ID Safe not filling mynortonaccount.com

Hi Krusty13

I'm seeing a similar issue to the one you've reported.

If I view your thread under IE9, subsequently login to open my local vault and then click on the link that you provided above, the following new IE9 window opens:

(Notice in the above that the padlock in the Norton Toolbar is displayed as open (vault closed) and that there is a  prompt to login to identity Safe when clearly the Identity Safe vault is already open).

It looks like some sort of Norton toolbar synchronisation issue between the initial browser window and the newly opened browser window. As a workaround to resolve the issue, try the following:

  1. Navigate to your post above;
  2. Login to Identity Safe via the Norton Toolbar;
  3. Click on the link that you've provided above;
  4. If the Norton Account signon window opens as shown in the picture above, then click on the 'open padlock' in the Norton toolbar in this window and then close this window;
  5. Re-open the window via the link that you've provided above in your initial browser window and you should find that Identity Safe will fill out your details when you click the Signon button.

Hope this helps.

Re: ID Safe not filling mynortonaccount.com

Hi elsewhere,

Thanks for your reply.

I think your problem is different.  As I've mentioned,  I can't sign in to my Norton Account even if I enter my details manually.  When I click Sign In my details just disappear and I cannot go any further.  Norton Identity Safe even asks if I want to save my login and I have tried that too.  ID Safe still will not fill my details and I still cannot sign in to my Norton account.

I have tried your work around,  but I couldn't get it to work.  Another work around that does work for me is if I click the entry in the drop down list after clicking on Identity Safe.

Ok,  I've worked out that if I enter https://account.norton.com/amsweb/default.do everything works as it should.  So why the different URL's?

This problem is still occurring.

Can someone check if they are seeing problems logging in to https://www.mynortonaccount.com/amsweb/default.do?

Thank you.

Hi Dave,

I never gave it much thought before, because I was always able to login to Norton Account. After doing some checking in my logins list, I see the URL I have for logging in from ID Safe to Norton Account is https://account.norton.com/amsweb/default.do. I guess it's been there a long time.

Just to confirm, I used the mynortonaccount address and came up with the same results as in your screen shot as a test. Went to the site, entered my credentials, clicked Sign In, and like you the credentials disappeared. Also got the drop down Save bar, when there was nothing to save. Then again, I have the other address as the one I use to login to Norton Account.

Like Identity Safe, where I am auto logged in, the same thing happened when clicking the Account link from the GUI. I was logged in.

Using the latest version of Chrome, 23.0.1271.64. Didn't bother even dusting off IE 8 to try it. Only keep it updated with Windows updates, but rarely use it as it performs poorly on my older system.

Hi Ed,

Thanks for confirming that you see the same as me.  I don't know why it happens but at least there is still a way to access Norton accounts.

Cheers,

Dave

Re: ID Safe not filling mynortonaccount.com

Problem solved.

To access https://www.mynortonaccount.com/amsweb/default.do 3rd party cookies need to be enabled.  Please see this thread for details.  I will go to https://account.norton.com/amsweb/default.do instead where 3rd party cookies do not need to be required.
