Identity safe

Help! I can't get Identity safe to work. I've switched it on, but it does not auto complete or even ask me if I want to save logins. My old version (4) on my old computer does this without a problem; my new version (gold edition) running win 7 won't. Has anyone got some simple step by step instructions on how to get this feature up sand running?

Are you aware that the latest version of Identity Safe has changed the way it is displayed. Many who update from an earlier version expect it to work and look the same.

It now is just a thin black bar that slides down from the toolbar at the top of your browser. You find the usual options in that bar.

You will see an option to log in to Identity Safe the first time you visit a site requiring a log in. After that you will see the options to fill log ins or save log ins, etc.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Identity safe

Yep I'm aware that things have changed. I'm logging into ID safe, but it still does not fill in fields nor prompt to save a log in.  I've tried to get it to save log in details, but it's not having it. This is most frustrating!

Re: Identity safe

It will ask me sometimes to: fill out form and sometimes if I want to save. I wish they bring back the old form, it was visible and simple. They need to remember, DO NOT FIX IT, IF IS NOT BROKEN, or something like that.

Re: Identity safe

I couldn't agree more! I have finally got it to fill out forms; but as you say, you have to tell it to do so. Regarding log in details: I got it to save one - yippeee! - again I had to tell it to do so! However, on one site I tried (NHS Logins) it only asks me to save after I've looged in and the site has gone to another page! By that time it is too late - although it does at least save the details so if I've forgooten I can look it up - but it won't actually fill in the login details.

Come on Norton give us an update to fix this. The old way worked better - and worked all the time!

Not filling the forms without the user intervention is probably by design. Sometimes you may not want an online form filled for privacy reasons.

Which Norton product are you using, including the version? Support - About

Are you having trouble with all log in sites? If it is just one or two, you should report the sites by clicking on the Identity Safe link on the Norton Toolbar. Then click on Report site. There have been some issues with individual sites.

Re: Identity safe

Thanks I'll certainely do that. Still think the older version was better and far easier to use.
