Identity Safe. Sites requiring Log ins for different areas

I have an account with one website with the log-in details saved in Identity Safe. There is a different area of that website that requires another log in. Each time I attempt to add the new area log in it overwrites my existing log in. For example Amazon have the online shopping pages with one log in and they also have Amazon Associates area which requires another. The Norton help gives the following advice but I never see Option 4 onwards:

"To save additional logins for a website
1 Go to the webpage for which you want to save
another login.
Your login credentials automatically appear on the
webpage.
Securing your sensitive data 219
Accessing Identity Safe
2 Clear the login credentials that appear on the
webpage.
3 Type the new login, and then click the option or link
that logs you in.
4 In the prompt Do you want to replace your saved
Login for this site?, click Save New.
w You can see this prompt only for the first additional
login that you save for the same website.
5 On the infobar, in the Do you want to replace your
saved Login for this site? confirmation message
that appears, click Save to add the newly entered
login details.
6 Enter a reference name for the new login in the Save
as text box, and click Save"

Re: Identity Safe. Sites requiring Log ins for different areas

Hello Blanc0

What Norton product and what version number do you have? What operating system and service pack? What browser and version number are you using?

Thanks.

Re: Identity Safe. Sites requiring Log ins for different areas

Hello Bianc0

The Norton Toolbar is being remodeled and it will not be compatible with Firefox 41 and higher until the end of October if everything stays on schedule.

NIS22.5.2.15 has been updated to 22.5.4.24. You can get this version by running Live Update. Once you have this new version  and have restarted, please check and see if you still have the same issues.

Another thing you can try is to turn off Fast StartUp and shut down your computer.  Then start it up again. Please try testing to see if you still have your issues.

Please come back and let us know how you made out.

Thanks.

Re: Identity Safe. Sites requiring Log ins for different areas

Hi floplot,

I have updated my NIS - thanks for the heads up on that. Since the Norton Toolbar/ Identity Safe isn't available on Firefox I have moved to MS Explorer v11 where I can access the Vault.

I have tried again to initiate the two separate log ins but I still have the same problem.
Have just found out how to alter the Fast StartUp and will try that.

I will be back to let you know if that makes a difference.

Hello Bianc0

Thanks for the feedback. Can you treat the 2 separate Amazon sites as 2 different sites? I don't use the Identity Safe, but I am trying to help.

Thanks.

Re: Identity Safe. Sites requiring Log ins for different areas

I have tried that but Identity Safe (IS) alters the URL to just the 'usual' Amazon URL. The Associates URL is https://affiliate-program.amazon.co.uk/ but when I manually alter the URL in IS it always alters it to http://www.amazon.co.uk/ . It's not the end of the world but it would be nice not to dig out a piece of paper for the passwords each time.

Re: Identity Safe. Sites requiring Log ins for different areas

Difficulties with logging in such as this one can be brought to the attention of Norton, by going to the URL, then select Vault is Open > Current Site > Options > Report an issue with this site.  A new page will open showing the URL and space for you to explain what the problem is.  You may desire to include the other URL within the feedback.

Usually Norton will respond - notice I said respond, not correct it that quickly.

Right-O Yank,

For example, I used the URL reporting tool to notify them about the IE and Chrome NTBs not working for PW field fills on any of the Google services portals (e.g. Gmail login). Norton responded within a week with an emailed confirmation indicating their awareness of the non-functionality and stating that they were working on the issue - that was last June (2015) - and the IE and Chrome NTBs still aren't working for PW field fills with the Google service portals - Interestingly, the very same portals continue to work just fine with the current FF NTB (so long as you don't upgrade FF to the latest release and thereby loose the current NTB support for it, of course)...

I hear you John - have you ever read the following on the Feedback form?

By clicking the "Send Feedback" button, you agree to the terms and conditions below.

Nothing herein will constitute an obligation of Symantec to respond to You, or make any other use of Your Feedback.

Because of a discussion somewhere else, I finally read it. Yes, I'll admit I have used Feedback  and never read it before.  Shame on me!

How's that for covering "IT" ?
