Identity Safe on Firefox triggers a malware warning from Malwarebytes when accessing an item in my vault. Says it's trying to access safecart.com. Is there a risk?
FWIW - https://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=safecart.com
Now if we had the "item in your vault" that is triggering it, we could probably find more info.
Safeweb shows the site location as being in the USA and the SSL cert as being issued in Canada. Thoughts?
I"m not sure I understand how to use the Identity Safe as it now exists in Firefox. All my passwords are there and by clicking on the gearwheel I can look at the login. I can also show the password. After doing this I get a Malwarebytes pop up that disappears before I can read it. Then if I open Malwarebytes I can look at all the alerts. they show an OUTBOUND connection to safecart.com blocked. This occurs with any entry. Presumably I can't log on to any of my saved sites by clicking on the Identity Safe entry, but I can see my currently saved password which may or may not be the latest saved PW. There also seems to be no way to edit the Identity Safe entry. As Norton's ID safe for Firefox has apparently just been cobbled together, perhaps it isn't working right yet. I'll use it to remind myself of the maybe current password, ignore the Malwarebytes alert, and expect no more.
Just trying to follow along - are you using Malwarebytes Pro (in other words MBAM is running in real time)?
Click on the ID Safe Icon in Firefox and at the bottom click My Vault.
It will open your vault in a webpage and on each entry you can click the gear and it will let you edit everything for that entry.
OK PhoneMan has provided a means of updating my Identity Safe entries. Yank I guess Malwarebytes Pro is running in background I can open it to check status then close it, but it notifies me if it blocks something and keeps a log I can look at if I open it.. I will continue to check and see if anything changes.
I have workarounds for my problems. I will continue to monitor the situation
