Ignoring individual pages within a site.

In the 'Options' list of the  <Toolbar - Vault Open - DropDown box, could we have an Option to "Ignore this Page".

After using the dropdown to select a login to enter a site, every time you get a page on the site which may require data, the drop down box appears with various logins etc., which bear no relation to what you need to enter.

There is only an Option to ignore the site as a whole.

It would be nice to be able to ignore an individual page within a site.

Hi,

That sounds like an excellent suggestion. Please post it in the product suggestions forum

http://community.norton.com/t5/Product-Suggestions/bd-p/Suggestions

or

you can click on the word 'options' and in the dropdown select the last line to notify a moderator. Request that your message be moved.

Thanks - either way

Thanks for reply, but I will have to do more trials.

I now believe the current Option should read 'Ignore this PAGE', I have found that if you click it on a page, it doesn't ignore the whole site, only that page.

The problem I am getting is that when the Dropdown gives multiple choices, it fills the login boxes with the first choice.

So if it is the choice you want, you ignore the dropdown and click 'submit'.

Trouble is, the choices dropdown doesn't always close, so it is still there on the next page, even when you have told that page to be ignored.

This fault seem to be intermittent as it doesn't always happen.

Hope this makes sense.

Though, I think the 'Option' should be renamed to "Ignore this Page' , not Site.

Re: Ignoring individual pages within a site.

Can't say about v21, but in v20 and prior, there is an auto-fill option on each login definition.  If you deselect the option on all the common logins for the given website it will not enter anything until you have made your selection from the pick list.  Although I tried v21 and it did work this way too, I was using my vault entries that I had created in v20 and v19. I did not create any new multi-pick list entries while testing v21 so can't say if the option is there to set, however I can say that it does support it if it was there from a previous version's creation.  In v20, the option is located here:

If you notice, I have three different entries for this webmail site.  Since none of the entries have the auto-fill option set, the NTB shows the pick list and waits for the selection to be made.  Optionally you can set one the entries to auto-fill (making it the auto-default) and as long as the Auto submit is not selected, it will enter that entry then wait to see if you wish to override with a different choice from the pick list.

Kind regards,

John

Hi John,

Here is an image of a small part of the edit Log-in page in V 21 - as you can see the same three options are available.

Thanks for confirming Yank!  I'd assumed that the option was still there somewhere, but since I'm not using v21 I try to refrain from presuming one way or the other.

Best!

Re: Ignoring individual pages within a site.

I have now reloaded Norton and the problem seems to have gone away.

The 'ignore this site' option works ok as an 'ignore this page' option.

Perhaps one day it will be renamed.

I believe it used to be 'ignore this page' in previous versions.

I just tested with one of my pages that gets filled by the ID Safe.

When you go to the page you want to ignore, click in an open data entry box. A drop down bar will appear with a button to Fill or Don't Ask. Click on Don't Ask and that page will be ignored while still having access to vault features for the rest of the site.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
