Keep same-time expiration if renew now? 30 days remaining

Thirty days remaining on my N.S. subscription, so if I renew subscription NOW instead of within 2 weeks of current expiration date, will subscription service become NEXT YEAR PLUS 30 DAYS FROM TODAY?  Or does renewing "too early" cut-off the number of days?  Meaning, still having 30 days to go, if renew today, will new expiration become  june 20, 2018 ?

It depends what you mean by renew.

There are 2 ways to extend your subscription.  You can "renew" your existing license through Norton and the new year gets added to the existing time.

Or you can buy a new license but when you install a new license you loose the time that was left on the previous license because you no longer are using that license.

Norton chat support can add that time to your new license but sometimes it takes a while to get through.  Personally I wait as long as I can, until I can no longer take all the annoying popups and warnings and just give up the remaining days to make the dam program stop bothering me.

Dave,

"Renew", is keep the existing installation, not any kind of upgrade, pay the renewal fee, and run status check either through product or through Norton Account.  With 30 days remaining on current subscription, no need to buy a new license key, I take it from your description, renewed subscription would expire days-remaining-PLUS-one year.

You can both renew or change to a new license with an existing installation without needing to re-install or upgrade the product.

But if you renew your existing subscription through Norton it adds a year to whatever time that is remaining.  The downside is that unless they are having a special offer the price for renewal may be more than shopping around for a new license from somewhere like Amazon.

As I said, using a new license will loose any remaining days and only Norton support can add those back to your new license.

DaveH,

This is the part exactly what I wanted to know:

if you renew your existing subscription through Norton it adds a year to whatever time that is remaining.

Hello

With Automatic Renewal, they hit your credit card at least 30 days in advance.

Thanks.
