Keyboard partially working after latest update that had me reboot

I got the new update that had me reboot last week along with a few windows 10 updates and now my keyboard has issues the right arrow key, zero on number pade, and 6 on number pad randomly stop working on my HP Envy DV7 laptop from 2012. Could the norton update be the cause of my issue or something else. I have even tried reinstalling the keyboard driver for my laptop and it still does it.

I would be more suspicious of Windows updates. Norton should not be messing with hardware on your system.

It might also be worth trying another keyboard. Hardware does fail, and it almost always fails around the same time as some software gets updated, making us think it is the software. Just reinstalling a driver will not help if the hardware is defective.

It sometimes works but other times the keys don't. Its just so random like as I an typing this the keys are working.

Sounds like the keyboard is failing. I would keep an eye on this keyboard. If it starts acting up again, I would still try another keyboard to see if that helps.

I just re read the original post and realize it is a laptop, so trying the different keyboard is probably not an option.

It could be an issue with Windows drivers for the keyboard. Click on Start and type CMD in the search box. Right click on cmd.exe and click on Run as Administrator. Type 'sfc /scannow' without the quotes. This will check your Windows installation and try to correct any errors it finds.

It it's NOT your computer. It's Microsoft here is the link... Don't give up on your Envy htpps://ugetfix.com/ask/how-to-fix-windows-10-cumulative-update-error-kb3194496-and-restore-mousekeyboard-settings/
