Liam.exe virus - I tried the link posted earlier, it tells me to ring Tech Support Line on ( a Liverpool number) h

I think I have the Liam.exe virus. I tried the link posted earlier to MalewareBytes... But a message came up saying

"Windows defender might have detected an intrusion in your C:\Windows \  Ststem32 \ DII. All attempts to block this intrusion might have failed, Hence system is halted to,protect you from Identity theft or any loss of personal information.

Please contact Tech Support Live at [Removed] (a Liverpool UK number I think).

HOW do I know this is a genuine number I can trust to help me please?

Or can you give me an alternative link please?

Many thanks,

Newbie Rosie13

Hello Rosie 13

Welcome to the Norton Forum

I would recommend a visit to one of the free malware removal sites rather than trying to fix this by yourself. Each of the sites will guide you in the best method of cleaning your computer safely. You register with 1 of them and stick with them until they say your computer is clean. If they can't do it safely, they will tell  you. Here is the list of sites.

Please go to one of these free Forums for help in removing your bad malware or rootkits.

(Thanks to Delph for providing the list of sites)

Please see this link for an up to date description of these sites plus the addition of a newly listed site formed by one of our successful malware remover users. The new site is listed first in this link.

Thanks Floplot.

But how do I type the link in, if the virus is stopping me from typing or doing anything on my laptop?

-As soon as I type ANYthing in the address bar, a speaking add comes up, saying I've been selected to win a £million! So I don't know how to get passed that to get to the malware sites.

(I'm typing this on my iPad)

Please advise, this is all new to me, hence asking your forum.

thanks!

Use your IPad.  Register and start a Thread at one of the Malware Removal Forums.  Try What The Tech.

Explain in you opening post at What The Tech <<As soon as I type ANY thing in the address bar, a speaking add comes up, saying I've been selected to win a £million! So I don't know how to get passed that to get to the malware removal forum>>   OR

Hello Rosie

As bjm_ use your ipad and explain to 1 of the free malware sites I mentioned in my other post and tell them what happens if you try to use your computer. I would suggest also that you get a larger pen drive if you don't have one, just in case they might want you to download certain programs to run on your computer. They will give you all the instructions of what to do. Just follow the instructions and ask them questions if you don't understand something. I think you would be best off with one of the free malware removal sites.
